Bucks 'A' Yarmouth Report

BUCKS 'A' YARMOUTH REPORT

Hopes and expectations were high, noise levels were off the chart and support for each other was unsurpassed.
First game was due to start at 10pm but started about an hour late. Up against 'eh eh, calm down calm down' Merseyside 'A', it was a game that we were eager to start and even though we lost the first 3 games we never stopped shouting encouragement to each other. Bucks had a look in their eyes and a belief that we could beat anyone and on we marched to a great win of 23-15.

Second match was Saturday at noon, again it started an hour late so the waiting around was becoming tiring. Leicestershire 'A' were our opponents this time and being last years winners we were going to have the fight of our life but a win would have put us straight into the semi's and a night off. First 2 sessions went to Leicestershire 6-5, we should have won first session 7-4 and could have easily won the 2nd. third session was a nightmare losing 8-3 putting us 20-13 behind. It was deflating to see the match slip away and with leicestershire taking the first 3 in the last session and sending us to a third match and a replay against the scousers at 7pm.

For a third time the match started late and we got off to one of the worst starts Bucks have had, losing the session 8-3. That proved to be the nail in the coffin as the Bucks could not seem to scrape it back and eventually losing to a much improved Merseyside team 23-13.

Leistershire eventually went on to win the tournament easily and the fact bucks were on their @rses for 2 sessions was proof that we certainly have what it takes to win comps like this and I have no doubt that we eventually will.

For me it was a great experience and I was very proud of everyone in the team for their play and support and not to mention the people that came to support, Dan, Dave, Keyring and JK and anyone else i forgot.

This year we plan on winning the region so Intercounty Finals is our goal and I am more than confident that we will cause lots of problems for anyone we come up against.

Again I would like to thank all the players for getting to games on time, supporting team mates and at times playing fantastic. We will live and learn and improve more and more, well done Bucks.
