Bucks Bunnies v Northants Ladies
Posted by bullet.gif Rowdie on June 29 2009
With an extra two frames awarded to the Bunnies for Herefordshire?s unregistered players, the Bunnies started the second half of the season 44 points clear of second placed Oxfordshire. Northants have traditionally given Bucks a good match and with Sarah Cox (Kelly) back in the side having been on holiday for the away fixture, the Bunnies were on their guard. (which is to be expected with a pearl sporting, red shiney shoe wearing Yorkshire Ripper previously on the prowl).

Victoria Big-Mouth took the first frame of the day against Jo Coe?s Mrs and closet Bunny fan, Jodie Holt. Sarah Wilkifish and Stacey McPinko soon followed suit, but not before the Bunnies had gone 5-3 down. In my previous report I commented on the Bunnies decimating the first session, and the fact that we needed practice at looking over shoulders. Cheers for the undivided attention girls, but WTF (nb WFT for northerly R5 counties). Wookie and Rowdie took two of the final three legs, but Northants took the frame they needed to kick the Bunnies up the powder puffs with their first session loss of the entire 2009 season to date. Bugger. Ah well, who cares about session scores anyway. I only use them to structure my report.

Second session, the hackles are up. The Bunnies took the first four frames. Frames are then exchanged pretty much all the way down, that tosser Rowdie sticking in an extra win out of sequence to spoil the pattern. What does she know anyway? Can?t even remember to pot the right colour after Toastie?s just told her she?s on reds, let alone complex frame sequencing with the opposition.
Anyhoo, second session score 8-3. Do we care about session scores ? course we do !

Third session, beeeooootiful. An eight frame run, and a 9-2 session win overall. Anything remarkable about this session? Well yes, actually. Finally, finally, the Wookie has lost a frame. Not necessarily deserved, although Justine Hibberd is a fair player. So the Wookie stopped in her tracks at a run of 26 frames. Awesome record nonetheless.

With the match now beyond Northants reach, the fourth session was won 8-3. Maximums came from Darth-Vader ictoria taking out ex-Bunny Sarah Brackley (Clarke) for her 4/4, Stacey beat Mrs Jacuzzi, Jodie Holt for hers and Rowdie finished off Wookie vanquisher, Justine Hibberd for the final maximum of the day.

Match result, 30-14.

3 /4s came from Michaela Lester putting in a nice result against her old side, along with the in-form Sarah Wilkins and Emma Cunningham. 27 / 28 is still awesome Emz, but attempting to get a POM by playing the vulnerability card. As if ! Totally unbelievable. You?re just too obviously better than the rest of us piss-ants. So still no POMs lol. In fact, Bucks top 3, Wooks, Rowdie and Toast with no POMs between them.

POM went to Stacey McConnell who played well all day, without any (much) stroppy chalk throwing. Ahem.

Good work Buns. Unlucky to the B team, but great to see the lovely Dog back in action. As for the A team, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. Dane and Duvet both beating McGoogle, Duvet winning POM on his A team debut, Cricks and Stu dishing up as beautifully in sync as Fred and Ginger, and a terrific 26-18 win against the Regional Champions. Well played boys, keep that up and you might just force the Bunnies into getting louder (ear muffs on stand-by).

PS ? given the nature of half of my team mates, I might have been ill-advised in my use of the word muff.
