Hi all, the AGM will be held this coming Tuesday 6/9/16 at the herald starting at 7pm. We are starting at 7pm sharp to allow us to hold the presentation on the same night. As you are aware, there will be alot of things to discuss at the meeting so please make sure you are there on time.
The main topic will be the rule set! Wether to change, stick or run both so if you want a say make sure you attend.
Thanks
Nick
The best turnout to a Pool AGM I've seen.
It was confirmed that the current committee have resigned. It was put to the floor that myself and Stuart had proposed an alternative if no one was willing to take over. Questions were asked regarding what is involved in running a league, which Nick explained. No one has come forward to take over the Tuesday League.
Nick then passed the meeting over to Stuart and I to share our proposal of running a Blackball league and we answered various questions, Including:
Q. What are the differences in the rules
A. Differences were explained and leaflets handed out. Some rules would be relaxed, to be agreed, and for the first season we can all help each other without coaching..😊
Q. When would we expect the Blackball league to start.
A. Blackball league will start in 5-6 weeks
Q. What about EPA county players they need to play in an affiliated league
A. The league can stay as the MKTPL which is already affiliated.
Q. Would we be willing to go to pubs or do a one night at the Herald to go through the rules and play some frames with players
A. Yes, we are happy to do both.
Q. Would there be at least 2 divisions
A. Yes, if we could get at least 8 teams
Q. Poster says signing is max 6 players but we have more than that
A. Poster was designed when it was looking likely that there would be 2 leagues. But it is likely that the maximum number is not capped. But also maybe there is the possibility of entering 2 teams.
It was good to see teams interested and we have already been asked to attend to a few pubs.
We know that this is not for everyone but it is open to everyone. We firmly believe that these rules will suit a pub game better.
We aim to bring fun to Pool, spread the winning titles across all levels of players and spread the business across all venues.
As pointed out, not everyone was there so there is still time for individuals to come forward to run the MKTPL as a World Rules league but we will still go ahead and run a Blackball league if the interest is there.
Tuesday 13th September both Stuart and I will be going around to pubs to share our proposal and answer any questions.
Teams can register from Tuesday 13th Sept and the deadline is Tuesday 4th Oct.
Please see new thread entitled BB Tuesday League Registration, this is not the name of the league but a way to distinguish between BB & WR in case anyone does come forward to run the league as WR.
Running a league can be a thankless & time consuming task therefore as a player who played in the league last season I would like to thank the committee members for their time and effort, especially Nick Bowden who I believe has kept the league going for as long as it did.
I'm not weird, I'm limited edition
*cheer**double*
I just need a team now :)
