Herefordshire 'A's versus Bucks 'A' match report
Posted by bullet.gif whatafcukinliberty on June 07 2010
Well the day started for me at 7am. Texts about player that couldn?t make it, phone calls and finally a trip to Herald to pick up a cue. It was worth it as it seemed we had a full squad but as it turned out the ?B?s were still one player short. Seeing as I was up so early I decided to do the team order of play to save me some time when I got there.

To start off I would like to welcome John Hardaker into the ?A?s for the first time this season. Onto the match, Steve ? I aint finished my first drink yet? Appleby started us off along with Jimmy Wharton with Jimmy winning his game in style and an excellent finish. I think at this time Steve was still shaking his opponents hand. Next up was Johnny ?babyface? Hardaker; he played really well and had a solid game with a great finish, 2-0 Bucks. Steve ?am I still playing? Appleby started chalking his cue.
Terry ?scares the shit of me? Davidson was up next and in his usual flamboyant style won, 3-0 bucks.

NEWS FLASH
Steve ? is this still my first pint? Appleby potted a ball.
Mike Chappell up next and it was looking like it just wasn?t going to be his day. A couple of good chances fell to each player but it was Mike?s opponent that came out on top, 3-1 Bucks.

NEWS JUST IN
Steve ?is this game for charity? Appleby finally won his game.

Peter Lee up next with Stuart Douglas on the other table. Peter got his dream game, a tactical game, if only Herefordshire knew. Peter thrived in this game and after a few great safety shots took the game easily. Stuart lost but he blames Larner. Dan ?I?m the daddy? Morgan up next and he also played a steady game and won easily. Jamie ?MOM... its mine...mine.. ALL MINE? Whittaker started off slowly but as the game went on he just got better and better and won the game putting Bucks 7-2 up. Mark and Jamie Mc Gauley were the last 2 of the first session and with missed chances from both players and looking like they were not going to get back to the table, Herefordshire blew it and made the mistake of giving the boys another go. Well, it was a chance that they were not going to mess up and both potted good balls to win their games. First session 9-2 to the Bucks.

The second session was just as incredible as the first. Yes, Steve Appleby only took 5 minutes to win! The session was won by the mighty Bucks 9-2 with our only losses coming from Mike Chappell and Jamie Mc Gauley. Absolute dream start and looking like it could get embarrassing for Herefordshire as we took an 18-4 lead after just 2 sessions........ Holy crap !

Third session amazingly went Herefordshire?s way 6-5. I think there was a a little karma as we had a few strokes of luck in the first session and this session it was their turn. With Chappels luck running out fast his 3rd game was lost as he was broke and dished against. Jimmy the Jamster tried to jam his ball into his opponents (not in a porn way) and ran out of jam as he potted the opponent?s ball, gave 2 shots and lost the game. Just like to say Stuart Douglas?s clearance was feckin brilliant. Other wins in this session came from Terry ? where?s my bumbag? Davidson, Steve ?back to normal? Appleby, Peter ? where?s Franco? Lee and Jamie ?I?m going to open a trophy shop? Whittaker. End of third session and Bucks leading 23-10, securing the match result.

Jimmy ?oops? Wharton started us off in the last session with John ?oooh I?m in the ?A?s? Hardaker on the other table. Well as much as Steve?s game was the longest of the day, Jimmy then went on to have the quickest game of the day. Hereford Broke, potted a ball, Jimmy went for a cut, shaved the black, black in the middle pocket.... goodnight zzzzzzzzzzz. Jimmy 2/4. John Hardaker kept up his solid game all day and took his last game to get an excellent ?.

Terry ?where?s my bumbag, did you time me out, I don?t care if there?s a match? Davidson went on and secured a great win and 100% for the day. Well done Terry. Mike Chappell next and he must have wished he didn?t wake up Sunday as he stumbled to his fourth loss of the day. There was always your Sunday league game to look forward to Mike. How did that go?

Jamie Mc Gauley up next and knowing he needed a win to keep his 50%, he didn?t disappoint. Steve ?are we still in fookin Hereford? Appleby and Peter ?I miss Franco? Lee were the next 2 players up both on 3/3 and looking to get 100%. They didn?t. Let?s move on.

Four games to go and I?m happy to report that the mighty Bucks took all four thanks to Stuart ?, Mark ?, Dan ? and man of the match Jamie ? is that a real trophy? Whittaker. Fourth session was won 7-4 giving Bucks ?A? an absolutely fantastic win of 30-14.

What else can I say, it was a long long long long day but spirits and noise levels were high and the support today was unsurpassed. I?m already chuffed to bits to captain such a great team and when I see players enjoying themselves win or lose, it makes the whole job worthwhile.

LATE LATE NEWS
? Terry found bumbag but lost the ability to shut up.
? Jimmy lost his Jam, was it in Terry?s bumbag?
? John Hardaker wins 3 and says he owes it all to his teddy ?puffy?.
? Mike Chappell loses the plot... I mean four plots.
? Jamie Mc Gauley stays under 21 for what seems forever.
? Steve Appleby sets an all time standing still record.
? Peter Lee wants to be reunited
? Stuart Douglas in ?taking all the credit? scandal
? Mark Mc Gauley just realised he aint travelling
? Jamie Whittaker buys ?I love my captain? T shirt
? Dan Morgan fathers longest baby on record.

Congrats from all of Bucks mate.
Bucks ?B? played fantastic and managed a draw giving 4 games away as they were a player short. Well done Dan Wilkins for his MOM.
Bunnies had an amazing day with a result that makes you think ?did anyone from Hereford turn up?. 38-6 win for the wonder bunnies.
Fantastic day for the Bucks and am really looking forward to our next game. Lastly I would like to say congrats to David Larner on the birth of his baby girl. All the best from Bucks.
