New and improved IPA Tour for 2012
Posted by bullet.gif Deano on October 23 2011
We would like to invite all pool players throughout Europe and beyond into the 2012 IPA Pool Tour and additional events.

Since taking over the running of the IPA just three weeks ago, the committee have secured a new and upgraded standard of hotels for both accommodation and the hosting of the arena for this season. We have also managed to secure the facility and working partnerships with both o...f eight ball?s leading cloth and table manufacturers.

Many new alliances have already been forged. One such alliance being the Jersey Festival of Pool partnership offering our returning players from 2011 the opportunity to get even more out of attending this prestigious, fun packed pool extravaganza.

A number of meetings have also taken place with various new sponsors and hosting venues which are all aimed at not only injecting more money into our sport, but also in raising the sport?s entire profile.

Televising our events is high on the list of objectives for 2012. After already establishing an agreement with a totally new venue to host these events we are confident that 2012 will see the return of English eight ball pool on television.

The objective of the Premier League in 2013 is also geared towards televised exposure, and we aim to release details including a new sponsor by the commencement of our first ranking event in March.

Our aim is to provide for both amateur and professional players alike. We appreciate that the amateur player of today could be the professional of tomorrow. Every aspect of the sport is being reassessed and many new and exciting changes will be implemented not only for the 2012 tour, but into the entire sport.

Talks are currently taking place in establishing the finals of events for both amateur and professional to be staged overseas, including Europe, Asia, South Africa and Australia.

Additional events to compliment the IPA Tour series are being formulated and discussed with potential sponsors each aimed at benefiting and further rewarding the support shown by our IPA Tour members.

These are exciting times and many new avenues have become available to us to explore and develop.

The 2012 IPA Tour:
We?d like to highlight some features of the 2012 IPA Tour, starting with the double elimination format. This is aimed at providing those players outside the top ranked 64 players with two chances to qualify into the knock out stage of the event.

Each individual event has now been given its own identity. We believe that given the high standards of both amateur and professional players that each event should receive the level of prestige it deserves. Each event will be separately marketed to attract title sponsors.

The amateur events will be an open draw to add to the excitement and try and allow all with a fair chance of making the final stages. We are obviously keen to reward those who excel and thus have created a top 8 ranked end-of-season play-off. As a bonus, the number one ranked amateur will also receive free entry onto the 2013 IPA Tour.

Professional events will be played to a minimum number of matches at the tour weekends prior to being hosted at an eternal venue. With our potential sponsorship talks coming to fruition these final stages will be recorded for television.

Your new website has gone live! Many of the previous website details are still to be added and this information will be uploaded in the next few days. The site also has a new domain name www.ipapooltour.com, the original propool.org domain will redirect to the new site. We apologise that not all the details are online but we felt it prudent to focus on securing the future of the IPA Tour first.

In such a short space of time we have attempted to establish a fair and level series. Many new opportunities that will benefit both the amateur and professional player are already under construction.

We would like to thank you all for your support and patients and again underline, it?s only been 3 weeks, imagine what we could achieve for you within three months!
